JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance and CPA required .
  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
  • Directs and supervises accounting functions including financial reporting, general ledger, tax returns, budgets and forecasts and other internal management financial information.
  • Liaison with outside accounting firms and financial institutions.
  • Conducts interviews with employee candidates.
  • Recommends documents and issues discipline.
  • Implements policies and procedures to include EEO/ AA in the controller’s area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for tax return preparation and supporting documentation.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws and Delaware Park Internal Control Policies.
  • Responsible for all financial training.
  • Promotes campaigns fostering favorable community relations.
  • Participates in professional organizations that promote the development of Delaware Park.
  • Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) to Ten (10) years in public accounting, related industry experience or a combination of the two.
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation and State and Federal tax laws.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the background check and licensing process, required by the Delaware Lottery.
  • Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to consistently comprehend, retain, and/or execute written, verbal and/or demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
  • Experience and/or exposure to long-term planning and proposals to senior management a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, customer relations and effective communications skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English.
