JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount. 
  • Respond appropriately and immediately to any emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for the leadership of the entire Security team covering various areas of responsibility and all aspects of Security operations.
  • Responsible for assisting Senior Management in the development of Security Business Plans on an annual basis.
  • Responsible for the preparation of departmental Operational and Capital budgets.
  • Responsible for monitoring and controlling all costs associated with all Security areas.
  • Oversees all staff personnel issues including but not limited to effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching and appraisals.
  • Works productively in a fast paced environment and effectively communicates with co-workers and upper management keeping senior management appraised of any problem areas.
  • Responsible for interacting, developing, and maintaining relationships with Law Enforcement Units, management and personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Responsible to ensure safety measures are established and maintained.   Promotes a safe work environment by complying with Delaware Park Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Local Laws and OSHA Regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to a wide array of situations in short period of time.
  • Listens, evaluates, and responds to all complaints and inquiries and exercise good judgment in resolving problems.
  • Maintains professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure total guest satisfaction and efficient operations in a safe, friendly, comfortable environment, by well-trained, motivated employees. 
  • Participates in professional organizations that promote the development of Delaware Park.
  • Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations.
  • Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


      JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in security, law enforcement or related experience.  Gaming security experience preferred.
  • Ability to supervise a variety of personnel actions and direct a diverse workforce to ensure the proper and effective operations of the Security areas.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain the background check and licensing process, required by the Delaware Lottery during employment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, customer relations, and effective communication skills.
  • Must be able to cover large areas with long walking distances, work areas that could have high volumes, diverse clientele, noise, music, minimal and/or bright lighting, and variation of climate control.
  • Must be able to remain flexible in a fast paced environment of constant change.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the business including evenings, weekends and holidays.
